Tin Can Open

The Tenth Annual Tin Can Open was held on Saturday, June 6, 2009. The event, attended by about 48 "Tin Canners" was very successful.

Except for a few, everyone enjoyed the condition of the golf course. Not bad, considering there were over 40 out of 48 satisfied golfers. Complaints were about the height of the greens, cup placement and of all things, dew on the greens. Hey guys, where can you get an all day golf outing for $8.00? Next year, we will transfer the dissatisfied ones to a private golf course where they can spend half their weekly salary for the one day event plus they will have to play quietly.

Thanks to everyone, especially the two non-golfing roving marshalls, Jim Patterson and Mike Ulinsky for their vigilance in keeping the golf course and language clean They also were kept busy supplying golfers with their food and drink.

God willing, we will see the 10th Annual Tin Can Open at Laurel Run Golf Course on the first Saturday in June, 2010.

The winning 50-50 ticket was purchased by Gary Bowser. Congratulations Gary. Remember who picked your ticket.

The Atwood family of Kittanning was well represented. Brothers Tom, Bid, Steve and Ron were there. Tom's son was also present. "Burr Head", showed up as usual.

More to come!
